Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026

CourseKit is an independent set of browser-first workflow tools for instructional designers, faculty, and course teams. By using CourseKit, you agree to use it only for lawful, institutionally approved purposes.

Independent project

CourseKit is created and maintained independently by Victor Iglesias. It is not an official product or service of Florida International University, FIU Online, Quality Matters, Canvas, Instructure, Respondus, Akindi, or any other institution or vendor referenced on the site. References to those organizations describe interoperability, professional background, or educational context only.

Permitted use

You may use CourseKit to review course exports, scan supported documents, format question banks, and generate local reports for your own instructional design, teaching, review, or remediation workflows.

You are responsible for confirming that your use complies with your institution's policies, data-handling rules, procurement requirements, accessibility procedures, and records-retention obligations.

Sensitive data and FERPA-covered records

Do not upload or paste student-identifiable information, grades, submissions, rosters, accommodations, private feedback, or other FERPA-covered education records unless your institution has approved that use.

CourseKit is designed to process supported files in the browser where possible and does not require accounts. Browser-first processing does not by itself make a tool institutionally approved for FERPA-covered records.

No professional, legal, accessibility, or compliance advice

CourseKit provides workflow assistance and review signals. It does not provide legal advice, compliance certification, accessibility certification, official Quality Matters review, WCAG conformance determinations, ADA determinations, FERPA determinations, procurement approval, or institutional signoff.

Treat CourseKit output as a starting point for human review.

Accuracy and limitations

CourseKit output may be incomplete, approximate, or wrong. File exports can omit information, browser parsing can miss content, and automated checks cannot evaluate instructional quality, legal sufficiency, caption accuracy, contextual alt-text quality, student experience, or full accessibility conformance.

You are responsible for verifying results before relying on them.

AI and model training

CourseKit does not use uploaded files to train AI models. Current CourseKit tools do not send uploaded course exports, documents, or question banks to external AI services for analysis.

Availability

CourseKit is provided as-is and may change, break, or become unavailable. No uptime, support, retention, or compatibility guarantee is provided.

Intellectual property

You retain responsibility for the materials you upload, paste, review, or export. CourseKit does not claim ownership of your course content or question banks.
